Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities in our Memphis Jewish Community!

There are many volunteer opportunities in the Memphis Jewish Community. Our agencies need you - please check our list (click here) and see where there is a good fit for you. Whether delivering meals to home-bound seniors, assisting with activities at the Memphis Jewish Home, or making sandwiches for the soup kitchen, there is a place where you are needed.

Teen Israel Experience 2010

 

Twenty-three Memphis Jewish teens received Lemsky Endowment Fund Teen Israel Experience grants of $2,500 to offset the costs of participating in teen programs in Israel. Four teens used their TIE grants for Memphis Jewish High School's Poland-Israel mission this past February.

 

The nineteen other teens will be traveling to Israel this summer on a wide range of programs including BBYO, Camp Koby, Camp Sdei Chemed, NCSY, NFTY, Ramah, and Tzofim Chetz V'Keshet. The teens fulfilled a 15-hour volunteer service obligation in the Jewish community, attended an Israel orientation session, and will be writing articles about their experiences when they return.

 

We wish all of them an enjoyable, educational and rewarding experience in our Jewish homeland.
