Israeli Scout Friendship Caravan
This year's Israeli Scout Friendship Caravan drew wide praise for its energy, warmth and enthusiasm for the State of Israel. The talented young adults performed at the Israel Festival at Shelby Farms, the MJCC day camp, a community-wide performance at the MJCC, the Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab, the Pink Palace Museum, and Mount Vernon Baptist Church. All segments of our Memphis community joined in the spirited singing and dancing.
Thank you to the following Memphis families who graciously opened their homes to the Caravan scouts: Kate and Steve Basar, Shelby and Lee Baum, Michele and Danny Buring, Janet Light, Laura and Jimmy Linder, Laura and Alan Tanenbaum, and Bert and Art Wolff.
Special thanks to the Israeli Scout Planning Committee: Kate Basar, Michele Buring, Melissa Faber, Leslie Fargotstein, Laura Tanenbaum, and Bert and Art Wolff.
This year's Caravan performances were made possible by a grant from the Lemsky Endowment Fund of Memphis Jewish Federation.
